Frequently asked questions
Before Your Tour
How do I book a tour?
Booking a tour with us is easy! You can simply visit TripAdvisor, Viator, Bokun, GetYourGuide, choose the tour you’re interested in and select your preferred date and time and make payment securely online. Alternatively, you can send us an email request at trektoursantigua@gmail.com with your preferred tour and date, and pay your guide.
Where will complimentary transportation pick up and drop off?
Round trip transportation is offered for all hotels, guest houses, Airbnb’s and the cruise port in St. Johns.
Can I request special accommodations or customize a tour?
Absolutely! We understand that every traveler is unique, and we’re happy to accommodate special requests whenever possible. Whether you have mobility concerns or specific preferences, please let us know at the time of booking and we’ll do our best to tailor the tour to meet your needs.
Are tours done in groups or just by individual reservations?
We offer solo, couple and group tours. Our small groups and personalized service allow you to enjoy the beauty, culture, flavor, and excitement of our island not from the well-trodden tourist track, but from the perspective of an insider. We’ve found that smaller groups give everyone their own individual experience while being mindful of the environment and the impacts their presence may cause.
Is there a group rate?
We offer a discount for groups of 10 or more. The percentage varies based on the size of the group. Group tours can be booked by calling or emailing us directly.
How do I pay?
Full payment is required at the time of booking with our 3rd party vendors online in order to secure your spot on the tour. If you’ve booked directly with us, then full payment is required upon pickup via debit/credit card or cash (USD or XCD only).
Can I pick my guide?
Guides are randomly assigned but we do understand that our guides make the trip special. If you’ve hiked with us before and prefer a specific guide, we will try our best to accommodate you. At Trek Tours, many of our guides have been with us for 3-10 years – they’re a part of our family and we’re a part of theirs. Selected for their dynamic personalities and expertise in everything from telecommunications, aviation, human resource, finance and architecture, no two Trek Tours guides are alike. They do, however, share one thing in common: a love affair with the great outdoors. They strive to make every trip meaningful to each individual, taking the time to understand what each guest expects on their own personal adventure and then making it happen.
Are guides certified to perform any first aid or CPR?
The safety and well-being of our guests are our top priorities. We adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines set forth by local authorities and health organizations. Our tour guides are trained in first aid and emergency procedures, and we regularly sanitize our vehicles and equipment.
How difficult are the hikes?
Whether you run marathons on the weekend or enjoy leisurely strolls to the refrigerator, we’ve got something for you! We offer 4 levels of difficulty ranging from Sugar Apple (Easy) to Stinking Toe (Difficult). Hikes are labelled as “difficult” either because they have a longer duration and/or involve more inclines.
How can I contact your company if I have further questions?
We’re here to help! You can reach us via email at trektoursantigua@gmail.com or by phone at +12687748735. Our office hours are 7 am – 7 pm. We strive to respond to all inquiries promptly and assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
